OUR MISSION: The main focus of our group is to increase adoption of animals from “kill” shelters, to
improve the physical conditions of the animals while they are in the care of this organization, to raise
funds to augment existing needs of the animals while in our care, to find suitable homes for these
animals and to spay/neuter every animal before it is placed in a permanent home.
PAWS Animal Rescue (Formerly Last Chance Rescue-Flint) is a NON-PROFIT organization that believes
that ALL animals deserve the right to a happy, healthy, environment. We are committed to saving the
lives of animals that otherwise would be destroyed.

| PAWS HAS A 911 CALL RESPONSE TEAM! We are proud to announce that in this depressed economy, PAWS Rescue is assuming an additional responsibility. Due to the reduced hours of Animal Control we are now responding to after-hours 911 calls. One of our volunteers, John Smigiel, has handled numerous calls for pets in distress from police (i.e. injured, starving, etc). Thank you John! Additional volunteers are urgently needed to meet police on the scene and transport animals to the Emergency Clinic or a foster home. ANNOUNCEMENTS The "2nd Chance at Love Adoptathon" is this weekend, Sept 10th, 11th, and 12th at the Grand Blanc PetSmart. Friday Sept 10th, 4pm to 8 pm Saturday Sept 11th, 10 am to 5 pm Sunday Sept 12th, 12 pm to 5 pm **We need volunteers to help set up, take down, and stay during the event to help with the animals. **We will also need volunteers to transport dogs to and from Swartz Creek to Grand Blanc. If you can help transport please let me know what day and which way, as soon as possible. Fosters: Please plan on having your foster animals there as much as possible & let me know who and what days you will be showing them. We have had great success during the adoptathons but can't do it with your help!! To volunteer, please send email to Tiffany@pawsanimalrescue.org ----------------------------------------------- -Sat., Sept. 18th from 12-6pm, we are participating in the FOX 66 Charity Blood Drive at the Perani Arena in Flint. The charity with the most presenting donors that day will win $500! And, in addition to helping save lives, each donor will also be entered to win one of two 22" flat screen TV's! | **We need help setting up on Saturdays at 11:30am and breaking down at 3:30 pm at Petsmart in Grand Blanc. Also every other Sunday times vary. It only takes about 1/2 hour. It has become overwhelming for the same volunteers to do it every weekend. If you could help just one Sat a month that would be great.
