About Us...

PAWS Rescue (Pets Are Worth Saving) , is a 501(c)3 non-profit, no-kill rescue organization whose roots go back to 1997. We were formerly known as Last Chance Rescue - Flint. We provide care for the animals in the Genesee, Oakland and Livingston County areas. We operate entirely on your donations as we are not government supported.
The main focus of our group is to rescue dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens that are going to be euthanized, and find them new loving homes. We are a "no-kill" rescue!
In a year, we typically take in over 300 dogs and 300 cats, and about 85% of them get adopted! Our animals come from abused and neglected homes, the county animal control facility, and from owners who, for whatever reason, can no longer keep their pet. We also have many animals with special needs, and animals who have been abandoned. We give them all another chance.

What we do...

We provide food to owned/neglected animals when our supply permits. We give housing and straw to animals that are neglected. We give pet care presentations to schools. We do fundraisers and newsletters to generate donations because we are
not funded by any governmental agency, group, or corporation - all our funds come from fundraising, donations, and adoption fees!
All of our animals are housed in foster homes by our network of volunteers, as we do not have a shelter facility. Every weekend they load up animals, cages and supplies to take to our adoption location to show the animals. We also have special adoption events and fundraisers several times a year.
